A 69-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by a white Cadillac SRX at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, in the 12000 block of Harbor Boulevard near Palm Avenue in Garden Grove. The vehicle fled the scene without stopping.
A witness followed the Cadillac SRX until Garden Grove Police Department officers were able to stop the vehicle. The male driver was taken into custody on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Police report that impairment is believed to have been a factor in the collision. The driver has not been publicly identified.
The pedestrian, a woman described as 69 years old, was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not been released.
