## Factoids

- **Extreme Heat Watch vs. Warning, and HeatRisk** (definition) ([source](https://www.wrh.noaa.gov/wrh/heatrisk/)): NWS issues an Extreme Heat Watch when dangerous heat is possible 24–72 hours out and upgrades to an Extreme Heat Warning when it is expected or imminent. NWS HeatRisk is a 0–4 color scale (Little/None, Minor, Moderate, Major, Extreme) that factors how unusual the heat is for the date, its duration including warm nights, and health-impact thresholds. This event is forecast at Moderate-or-greater HeatRisk for the coast and valleys and Major-to-Extreme for inland coastal areas into the western valleys.
